A man who stole thousands of pounds worth of diamond rings from his mother's new partner has been spared a jail sentence.
Dale Bool, 29, of Hillcrest Road, Templecombe, had previously denied a charge of stealing jewellery worth £18,000, but admitted a charge of theft when he appeared before Taunton Crown Court today.
Prosecutor Rebecca Bradberry said that the stolen items had belonged to the late wife of the victim who was the new partner of Bool's mother.
