Thieves stole more than half a ton of lead from a Somerset church roof in an early hours theft.
The All Saints Church in Merriott was targeted on March 14 where the lead was forcibly removed from the roof between 1am and 4am.
Ten panels were removed from the south side of the roof and could have caused further damage to the church if it had not been discovered.
A large ladder was left behind after being stolen the same night from a property in Church Street.
