The matriarch of a notorious crime family has been spared jail for trying to smuggle a phone, charger and sim cards to her son in prison.
Mary Broadway was visiting her son Rocky, aged 32, who was serving a seven year term at Channings Wood, near Newton Abbot, for a series of burglaries at farms around Somerset.
Mary, aged 59, of Chubbards Cross, is also the mother of
Charlie Broadway, who was jailed for life for shooting and killing neighbour Wilf Isaacs last year.
