Members of the public detained a man brandishing a hand gun in Weston-super-Mare - an act of bravery being praised by the police.
Officers were called to the incident at around 7.30pm in Moorland Road on Monday following reports of a man with a gun in the area.
Police received several calls to the incident including one from a woman who said she had been walking along the road when a man waved what she believed to be a handgun at her.
