A WEDMORE man found guilty of assaults on a man and a woman has had his sentencing hearing adjourned.
Bryan Lionel Vowles, aged 42, of Cribb House Lane, Clewer, had pleaded not guilty to assaulting Jamie Halls and Saxon Fleetwood by beating them during an incident at Compton Dundon on December 9 last year.
However the defendant was ordered to stand trial before Somerset Magistrates in August after which he was found guilty of both offences.

Man arrested on suspicion of murder of woman near Taunton
Police have arrested a 27-year old man on suspicion of the murder of a woman who was found dead in a house near Taunton.
Police confirmed yesterday that the woman may have been murdered.
The body of the woman was found at a home in Hilly Park in Norton Fitzwarren, four miles west of Taunton at about 8pm on Tuesday by police officers after the woman's absence had been reported by her employers after she failed to turn up for work.
The identity of the woman has not yet been released.

Cannabis dealer jailed for drugs offences
A MAN has been handed a jail sentence for selling a Class B drug.
Stuart Hodge, 33, from Weston-super-Mare has been sentenced to one-and-a-half years imprisonment for supplying cannabis.
In July 2013, police recovered a mobile phone in an unrelated crime which provided to be evidence that Hodge was supplying the Class B drug. Hodge was arrested at his home where officers found cannabis and digital weighing scales.
